Hello,
I'm looking for the macro command to target the bosses current target. I know that to cast at the boss would be something like:
/cast [@boss1] spellname
But how do I target the bosses target (which is presumably the active tank).
Thanks in advance

I just wanted to see if this was correct? I was hoping someone already used this.
EDIT: Not sure if it's @boss1target or just @bosstarget if there is only one boss in the encounter...?

I haven't tested, but I'm pretty sure it would be @boss1target either way.
You might be better off using @targettarget or @focustarget, though, even if they require a tiny bit of setup each encounter. Your requested macro would only ever target the target of the unit designated as boss1, and presumably that's not always what you want.

Yeah boss1 is always the first boss unit even if there is only one bossOriginally Posted by Tarien

Yeah, I'd definitely use [@targettarget] rather than [@boss1target]. On a fight like Paragons or Protectors, Boss1's tank isn't always the one you need to hit.
For Misdirection I use-
If my target is hostile, MD will be placed on that target's target.Code:
#showtooltip Misdirection/use [@mouseover,help,exists][@target,help,exists][@targettarget,help,exists][@pet,exists]Misdirection
This is a pretty useful property. You can easy add a Unit Characteristics trigger in WeakAuras to limit an aura to a single boss by requiring that Boss1 have a specific name.Originally Posted by pnutbutter

It might be standard now with recent encounters, but with some older ones I am fairly sure that not every boss will actually have that UnitID and therefore might not have boss frames.
I have to say going with a more generic target/focus approach is safer, at least until you are sure about a given encounter either way.Originally Posted by DeadmanWalking
