With il fiore della passione, Joe D'Amato passionately reworked the postman always rings twice and thereby created his definitive love letter to true American cinema 🌺

Jeff starts working as a handyman at a motel. Even before starting his position, he (unknowingly) engages in an affair with the motel owner's sexy young wife. In order to turn her jealous he also ensues a romantic relationship with a girl working in the local bar and soon the three are entangled in a web of lies and emotional power games.

I cannot get over how much she reminds me of Patricia Arquette in Lost Highway. Maybe such blinding white blondes were ten a penny in 90s softcore things like this and David Lynch was specifically engaging with that, or maybe he was just on a wave with Joe D'Amato? An attempt at a steamy southern erotic noir, but not a success. A middle-aged unpleasant bald guy has both a hunky younger brother, and a sexy younger wife. Trouble ensues.
